Description
Curaprox Perio Plus Protect, sold in 200 ml packs, is a mouthwash designed to provide effective antibacterial protection during periods when oral hygiene is compromised or requires extra care, such as during treatment for gingivitis, orthodontic treatment, denture care or implant maintenance. Its formula is less harsh than the ‘Forte’ version (0.2 per cent) and is suitable for use for up to three weeks. It combines chlorhexidine with natural, alcohol-free ingredients, making it safe and comfortable even for users with sensitive oral mucosa.
Perio Plus Protect is recommended for situations where it is necessary to maintain good control of oral bacterial flora for a limited period of time. It is useful for mild to moderate gum inflammation, orthodontic treatment, settling in to dentures or implants, and other situations where mechanical brushing may not be sufficient or comfortable. The combination of chlorhexidine with Citrox®/P provides effective plaque control, whilst reducing the risk of bacterial resistance and improving oral tolerance.
After brushing your teeth, fill the measuring cup with 10ml of undiluted mouthwash. You should swish this amount around your mouth for 60 seconds, ensuring that the liquid comes into contact with all areas of the mouth, including between the teeth and around the gums.
You should not rinse your mouth with water after swishing, as this reduces the effectiveness of chlorhexidine. It is also important not to eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after use.
The product should be used twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) for a maximum of three weeks, unless otherwise specified by your dentist.

This mouthwash contains 0.12% chlorhexidine digluconate, an antimicrobial agent effective against bacteria responsible for oral infections. It also contains Citrox®/P, a complex of bioflavonoids extracted from bitter orange with additional antimicrobial properties. Xylitol is added to enhance the prevention of tooth decay and improve the flavour. The VP/VA copolymer creates a protective layer on the teeth and gums, prolonging the active effect. It is alcohol-free.

Despite the moderate concentration of chlorhexidine, side effects such as staining of the teeth, tongue or dental restorations, changes in taste or a dry mouth may occur. Avoid strongly coloured foods and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, curry, red fruits and tobacco whilst using this product. The mouthwash must not be swallowed or used by children without supervision.
